Hello Sloths!
I know I have not yet posted on the blog, and most of the sloths here in DC are pretty familiar with my every day experiences as I'm prone to mentioning them every 5 min or so, but for those lovely people abroad, here is the update...
I am running for class council, even though I got on it this past semester by interview. Despite its rather nerdy connotations It has actually been pretty fun. We have had a couple of cool events, one called " Party Like a Rockstar" which was sponsored by rockstar the energy drink and was a rockband ( the game) contest... we ended up giving the rockband to the winner. It was a great success, except, Anthony was the only friend who came out to support other than Jon. But, that's ok, all in all its pretty lame, but weirdly satisfies my feelings of wanting to be more in the GW community.
In other news, Emily, my friend from home has been living across the street from 2400 M in one of those town houses. She is taking a semester off from school and working for the Obama campaign ( a non profit called women for Obama) and also waiting tables at Old Glory in Georgetown. Although I was a little concerned about what it would be like to have a friend from home come to live out here in my environment, it has been pretty cool. Its nice to have that little piece of home out here, and I'm pretty sure every one likes her. Also, she has made aderall readily accessible which has been good for our grades, but maybe not so good for our souls/ sleeping patterns.
So, in order to finish this post before the old toshiba over heats and powers down ( which it just did) I should briefly talk about the man in my life. Its a pretty new thing for me but I'm enjoying it. I met Jon at 18th st lounge in the beginning of February. He's a second year law student at GWU but is pretty much on our level. He's from NJ and went to BU undergrad. He causes me a fair amount of stress ( most of which I make up in my head) because he acts like its a pretty serious relationship but tells me its not so serious... but that is really the only point of contention. Other than that he's way cool and personable and has hung out with the whole crew a few times. Also he smokes ( although not up to our standards) but even picked up from Sarah and made a waterfall the other day... I was impressed. As for the other man in my life, Seamus the cat is also a source of stress. He is really sweet when Sarah and I are just hanging out quietly. However, when any one else is here he acts wild and skittish, even when my mom and sis stayed for the night last weekend. I was pissed at Seamus for being mean to my mom.
But, all in all things are pretty good here in ol' DC. The weather is beautiful and Sunday is 420. There is a huge/ free music fest on the mall w/ a bunch of way cool bands and my work load, although a little redic, is feasible with a little self discipline.
I miss and love you all!
