Okinawan Sloth

HEY all you!

Last week I went to Okinawa with everyone from IES. Okinawa is the southern-most island of Japan; it's tropical and beautiful and more humid than anywhere I've ever been before. I can't believe I thought summers in DC get bad...
We were there for 4 days, and while IES way over planned activities during the day, I had 3 of the best nights of my life. We got to do some pretty cool stuff during the days though, like glass-blowing, Okinawan-painting, and even playing an Okinawan instrument, the sanshin. So overall I really don't have a single speck of a complaint.
Our hotel was on the beach, but they told us we were not allowed to be on it past 10pm. So what did we do? We walked around a big rock to the next section of beach, about 30 seconds away! It was me and about 10+ guys swimming in our clothes, drinking in the ocean, and basically just being ridiculous. It was pretty funny being the only girl, because a lot of them got way too drunk and decided they could tell me everything from their personal lives. I learned about a lot of people that night! One guy ended up gashing his face open though, and another guy pissed and bled on his futon, and then slept on it. So overall it was..... interesting, to say the least!
The second night got even better. Instead of drinking the overpriced hotel booze, I walked to the nearest convenience shop in the rain with 6 guys, and it ended up being about 40 minutes away. The rain turned into a downpour, so we stopped under and asian-style gazebo type thing. This is the night of the cell phone pictures on facebook, which many of you have probably seen and been very confused by. Well, on this phone you can take pictures of kanji, and it translates them. But we started taking pictures of everything, like our faces, etc. and seeing what it had to say. Basically, it got everything spot on! It told us about truth, beauty, the future, the universe! One guy called the japanese girl he had just broken up with and proposed to her. It was intense. It was the most religious experience I've ever had!
Nothing could top that night, but the 3rd night was definitely up there. Again, the long walk
for alcohol. Again, the gazebo. Erica was with me this night, along with five guys. We had some really great talks, and then.... started making songs. First it was some tapping of the table, some clinking of cans, then it was humming, whistling, then tribal screams and dancing and jumping around, and then someone started rapping about Lee-San, the most amazingly adorable woman who works for IES. It was so much fun that I can't do it justice in a description. Then we went down to the beach, watched a far off lightening storm, drank some more, made some more songs, danced a bit. I ended up stumbling back to the hotel at 5am.
I was ready to never leave.
BUT, the day we flew back it was my friend's birthday, so luggage and all, we decided to go out in Tokyo. We went to an izakaya with a few people, and met up with someone's friend, this Japanese guy who speaks English with a Mexican accent. Everyone headed home except me and the birthday boy, who decided to chill with this guy and meet his friends. Well, I'm so glad I stayed, because I got to smoke in Japan! I don't know if any of you realize how lucky that is... it's incredible! We smoked in a karaoke room in Shinjuku, and then went to a club in Shibuya. It was the perfect ending to my island adventure.
So, I've been a very happy sloth!
I guess many of you are back in the states / heading back soon, but I'm only just beginning to have midterms! Crazy, huh? Well this is way too long, but I miss you all and can't wait to hear about everything you've been doing.
Here's a HUUUUGE HUG!

Shalom!

It’s been a while since I wrote. My family came to visit for 10 days and we traveled all over Spain. The day they left I flew to London and saw Larry and Cheyenne for a few days. London was great but definitely made me spend more money than I have. I arrived in Israel a little over a week ago and it’s been great so far. Eiad moved in with me and I just relax a lot, see friends and go out. Last night I went to a show by this jazz singer (she does more than jazz now, but still got the groove), she went to school with one of my friends but she became famous on TV last year so now she’s becoming a big deal but she’s only our age. It was a really good show. I also have been looking for a job.. it’s actually going relatively well. I found a job for 3 weeks in July (which pays pretty well) to work at a day camp in a nature resort. It’s pretty funny because the resort is actually a place by Jerusalem/ Arab villages where they try to show how things were done in biblical times. It’s nothing religious but they try to maintain things the way they were thousands of years ago and grow trees and plants that grew back then. So since I know nothing about that I have to learn a lot now.. I’ve been reading a lot about pomegranates, figs etc. pretty funny but I think it should be sweet. In the meanwhile I also need to find a job until July and after but so far haven’t found something that I really like. I got a job to work in a hotel in Tel Aviv but I rejected it last minute because they wanted me to do night shifts also. But I’m not too worried, I’m sure I’ll find something sooner or later so in an impulsive move I decided to change my flights back to London and the U.S to August. I’ll only be back in the States on August 18th! Damn!

That’s about it for now.. please keep updating and tell me what you’re doing/where you’re living for the summer. I miss you all very very much.

Holler back sloths!

Summer Sloth

Oh MAN everyone is having such adventures! I can't wait to hear more stories and see all the pictures when all my sloths are back in the land of the obese and ignorant. I just got back to Murrysville on Friday and I feel as though I will waste my whole life watching television for lack of anything better to do. It rains, I don't have a car, and I hate everyone I used to know from high school. At least my family is pretty cool.
Fortunately, this is a temporary situation. My family and I are going on a sweet vacation to Central America and then I will be back in DC for the Summer!! I'm going to move back around June 24th to live in the Claridge House (25th and K) by myself. So far, I don't have many commitments as every internship I applied to turned me down. But at least I'll be away from here! Make sure to holler if you're in town or if you want me to come visit you!
Hugs and kisses all!
Sam

I am a little baby (sloth)

So im like crying (actually balling) right now as im writing this. I just had to say goodbye to my host family and i got too emotional. I am going to miss them so so so so so much and they honestly made this semester something completely different. They had my family for dinner today which was actually very cool and enjoyable. I was quiet stressed out before they came over because frankly my parents can be too much but they were really cool and chill and both families loved each other.. but yeah I'm really going to miss Spain. Although it originally wasn't my first choice to study abroad I have truly fell in love with everything about it, it's amazing how in only 4 months I got so attached to a place.

Well
okay
now that i killed that topic i'll move on

so tomorrow morning im going with my family to Andalucia, the province in south spain and then we'll be going to barcelona. im pretty stoked. Then im going to london for a few days where i'll be seeing ma girl chey chey and larry. i'm very stoked. BUT THEN i'll be going to Israel which i've been waiting for since i left it 9 months ago. for that im super stoked. but seriously i cant wait to be back in dc and see you all. I have really realized that you guys are the best and reading everyone's posts always cracks me up.

now im going to bed. im sorry its been a retarded post, i am high and tired.. and emotional haha.

adios chicos

This Sloth Hates Finals

Hi All!!!!! I'm taking my last two finals this week, one tomorrow which I have yet to start studying for and one on Wednesday. The Wednesday one is going to kick my because it is Greek and naturally studying abroad, I have negative brain cells now.

I'm leaving Edinburgh on Thursday and just when the weather starts getting better, it's much less depressing here and people are actually outside during the day. So with leaving Scotland I have been reflecting on how I feel about this whole thing, and I came to the conclusion that Scottish people are depressed drunks with an identity crisis, it is really quite sad but it makes them loveable at the same time. There are those regular homeless people I walk by everyday, whose only companions are there starving puppies, and I will miss them. I'll miss watching the bum fights and fearing for my life everytime I walk home at night through "the rape park". Last week my friend found someone jerking off as she was walking home through said rape park. And I will defintely miss the Scottish NED's. NED's are a very rare breed of British trailier trash. NED stands for "Non-Educated Delinquents" and they roam the highlands of Edingburgh in white tracksuits and fake burberry hats, the women are usually pregnant and smoking a cigarettete with scruchies in their hair and exposed gut, I think you get the picture. And last of all I will miss "fanny pack", she's my flatmate. An endearing Canadian girl from Cornell majoring in Linguistics, she is the epitome of a nerd, I didn't think people like her existed, but I was clearly wrong. She is allergic to almost everything, has terrible asthma, and is a hypochondriac and germophobe. I find myself just sitting in silence studying her behavior. She eats the same dinner everyday, couscous with a banana and a non-flour treated bread and a glass of herbal tea. She goes to bed by 10 every night and wakes up at 7. Her clothes consist of khakis, a polo, high socks, and orthopedic shoes. She is the most interesting person and I love talking to her, last week i learned about her "gastro-intestinal nastiness", I just sit in awe because I'm just amazed by the geeky shit that comes out her mouth. Well anyways, I guess I'm getting a bit nostaglic about leaving and I really am just putting off studying.
I'm moving to London on Thursday, and that has been a disaster and a half. I don't have a job yet, I can't extend my visa, and worst of all Timmy got deported. Well not really, but we went to Paris and something went wrong with his new visa and he got arrested and put in a holding cell by immigration, after which he had to leave the country and fly home to Australia. So he's been in Australia for a month now and we're still not sure when he's going to be able to come back, another two weeks hopefully. Well with that being said, I now have an empty flat to move into with no furniture and no Timmy :(

Melissa I'm totally down to join this book club, I read the Red Tent though, really good book, It'll be a good reference for when we write the History of Flow.
I love you all and miss you terribly xoxooxx

Cheers,
Cheyenne

p.s. I took an adderral 20rx last week and got cracked out by myself in the library, it was amazing yet lonely becuase you guys weren't there so be cracked out with me.

Bon Voyage Emily!

Having Emily in DC has been bitter sweet. I know that she can be a little much some times... a lot of the time. But, she was constantly willing to smoke a cig, talk about Obama, DJ, give invitations to the cape, fill the bucket and deliver aderall. She definitely made the semester unique. So, all of our worries about issues with her assimilation into our group of sloths can be no more.... She got into NYU, so, if you are a sloth who knew Emily.. wish her well! She's got a great heart and hopefully NYU will be the place where she grows up a little.
love to all!

9:30 PM Gelman Library-2 unwritten ten page papers

(I had to throw in a blast from the past!!)-This describes how lonely we feel on campus.

Well, heres what we do without our sloths. hang out with kids, in armpits and with parents.
ps. that's gyawu teaching my dad to do the electric slide.

So here Gyawu and I are. Finals seem to be over for everyone except for us and we are stuck in the library. Gyawu has a 10 page paper due tomorrow and mine is due on monday, but I'm convincing myself its due tomorrow because I don't want to be here by myself this weekend. Life has been pretty boring for us, finals have taken over and our lives consist of gelman, sleep and drugs. We are the only sloths left in dc, and all of our eggs are in eachother's baskets. These eggs need to be spread out and incubated in different sloth baskets, so ya'll better get home soon and safely.
Gyawu and I are sitting here trying to think of what's going on in our lives and sadly it is very hard.
We are going to try and get in shape together this summer, mama houle is going to give us some tips.
We are also going to study for the lsat and gre... we'll see how that goes.
I also want to start a book club, if anyone is interested in joining. The first book I want to read is The Red Tent. Are there any suggestions for good books??
Gyawu is working for the school this summer, in the housing program. Which means univeral access to all dorms! (YEAH) and it also means that Gyawu has to be at work at 7:15 am 5 days a week.
I will be working for a law firm as the human resources intern, 9-5 on monday through thursday. Which means tons of weekend trips. If anyone wants to go back to Jacksonville all are welcome!
Also Gyawu wants me to inform ya'll that my new nickname is Dutch Mama. (he just told me that its fitting because I look like a little dutch boy) but I like it because I roll mad dutches!

anyways-- tons of sloth love from claws-sloth and dutch mama-sloth! We miss you dearly!

GOLDEN SLOTH WEEK

In Osaka, drinking Chu-Hi... one of the things i'll miss most from Japan.
In Nara, deer wander the streets and sidewalks and just about everywhere else.
Dotonbori, in Osaka.
In the moutains in Karuizawa with Saki-chan and Haruki-kun.
Osaka castle pond and garden.
We have been converted. Go to Japan and she'll get you too, I swear.
Ueno in Tokyo, when the sakura were in bloom. People have picnics and drink under them at night in this park.
We made origami houses and scenery. Japan has the best kids in the world; they are always ridiculously cute.
...

Oh my sloths, my sloths! I miss you all so much and it's been so very very long! こんにちわ!
So, today was the last day of "Golden Week," which is the Japanese equivalent of spring break, I guess. It was all that i wanted, and more! Erica and I went to Osaka, Nara, and Kobe with four friends, and then I went to Karuizawa, which is way out in the mountains, with my host family.
Yhe osaka trip was... crazy. Erica and I took a midnight bus - think China Town, but less sketchy - with 2 guys, and we were meeting two other guys there. Well, I brought a bottle of vodka, thinking it would last me a good part of the trip and help me save a little cash. (This country is fucking EXPENSIVE.) They stuck us 4 foreigners in the very back of the bus, which was probably the worst idea ever. While everyone else drifted off to sleep (or rather, attempted to do so,) we got trashed. Smacked-in-the-face drunk. I actually feel really bad about it in retrospect, because we were probably the most annoying people in the world. Literally. We were rowdy in a few too many ways... So, we get to osaka after not sleeping, with no idea of what we're going to do, where we'll sleep, etc. We lived like true sloths! We didn't sleep the next night either, even though we paid for a hotel room. The night after that, we slept in a 'manga kisa' which is basically a manga (comic book - which everyone, including old business men, read here by the way) library, with small square cubicles that have computers. So for 1200 yen, about $12, we slept in these little boxes of rooms on the floor, with towels for pillows, for 8 hours. Really, it's not such a bad deal!
So after putting my body through hell and loving every minute of it, I went away with my host to the countryside, to a popular vacation area. It was beautiful; we stayed in their wooden house up in the mountains. Basically, we just relaxed and took mini day trips, and then went to an onsen each night. Onsens are hot springs, and they honestly make you feel like you've been reborn! I spent 5 days with my family, just relaxing and recuperating.
Then yesterday I went to a park with two friends, and we had a drinking picnic in the sun.
My experiences here have definitely been effected by my living situation, but my family is becoming more used to me and easing up a bit, thankfully. I think they are a lot more comfortable with me in general after this trip, so we'll see!
There's so much more that I want to try to describe, that I can't choose what to say!  I hope this mini-synopsis explained a little bit!

I love and miss you all!
xoxo

hard core

I'm a senior!!!

I finished with all my tests and papers today and I'm officially done with junior year. The last 24 hours have been a race against time though. First of all, after being enclosed at my house all weekend to do work I realized on sunday that I still have a shit load to do. I decided however to pretend like I have nothing and I went to watch the Real Madrid game at the bar here. It was such a crazy game and at the end we won which was the determining game for us to win the Spanish League Championships. You can only imagine how crazy the madrilenos get on a day like yesterday. Everybody was hugging everybody, singing and dancing at the bar. We decided to follow the crowd down to one of the plazas in town where they had a HUUUUUUUUGE celebration. I am talking thousands of people all dressed in real madrid shit dancing, singing, drinking, smoking on the streets. There was a stage set up and a dj and at 3am the team's players came back to town (it was an away game) and we got to see all of them and party up. It was the most insane thing i have been to. completely insane. I got home after 4 am and had to wake up at 7 to take a final followed by many others. It sucked but was worth it.

Tomorrow I am going with Pam to Cadiz which is a cool town on the beach about a 5 hours train ride from here and we'll be there until thursday night. I am so stoked. All I want to do is lay on the beach, smoke a bit, drink a bit and maybe spit some game. on friday my parents are coming WOOHOO.

I still love and miss you all very very much. I think about you guys daily and how much I wish you would be here with me.

I really fucking miss landon manjikian.

Spring break and other fun pictures!

So these are just the highlights of what was the best spring break ever!

I love sloths! And I love when my sloths are all over the world!

Gangsta sloth

Hi Sloths!

First of all, I miss you all!

But now for the real deal, the tut update:

School is over on Monday and then I have a week to try and get my shit together for finals. It turned out that all my finals are on one day except for one which is a paper I will have to turn in early because I am leaving town the next day. Anyways, you could say I’m a bit stressed out. The tests don’t worry me but the papers do.. I have two big research papers (both around 10 pages) and one shorter paper. All in espanol. So you could imagine it takes me a while to write everything. But with all this new “stress” I still find time to be a baller.

Anna and I adopted a new love for soccer, or footbol as they call it everywhere else in the world. Real Madrid is an amazing team and everytime they have a game we go to a bar and watch it with soccer crazed men. We now also became fans of the Champions’ League which is coming to an end and its getting really good. We watch it pretty religiously which is funny.

Yesterday Tesi (the sister of the Senora) invited me to go with her and her boyfriend Yann to a comedy show. They ended up changing their mind and they invited me and Anna to go over to Tesi’s cousin house with them. We of course went and we were drinking there and just hanging out for a while. Oh and they did mad coke. They insisted to speak English which was very cute of them and we talked for sooo long. They were really cool about everything and very welcoming to Anna. Then after awhile we decided to go back to our house and sit on the balcony and get more fucked up. We managed to score some free hash and we came home and they drank and blew more and we smoked a few joints and got really retarded. They ended up thinking I’m like the coolest person ever. I told them about the crew and the shit that goes down back in the U.S. Turns out they also love drugs, especially the bf, and that he has done almost anything in the book. Mind you, he’s super hot. SUPER hot. So anyways we went to bed at 6am and it was really awesome. I am so happy I got to finally hang out with them except that it’s too bad that it happened only 2 weeks before the end of the semester.

Other than that, all is really good. I have been playing lots of UNO lately, kicking some ass. Madrid has been beautiful and warm and I comfortably walk around with just a tanktop, it’s really nice.

Well I hope you all are going to rape your finals.. I miss you all very very much. I cannot wait to be reunited in only.. 4 months!

Holler back sloths!

High Sloth

So I hope you all had a great holiday! Here in DC the weather was great up until Sunday when it was rainy. For "Earth Day" there was a concert on 4/20 on the national mall. Totally awesome- some good bands and some celebrity activists. I ate some brownies, drank some beers and took a few down there. We all happened to find each other somehow in the crowd- I think it was like our stoner gravitational pull. So the blunts were goin, the beers were being passed around while we grooved to Umphreys McGee as it started raining torrents. I was way too fucked to be bothered by it and I think everyone else was having a good time too. Well, Chevy Chase was just about to do his schtick and tell us that the Earth is crying from all the raping we do to it when some organizer came on and shouted "Everyone! There are electrical storms in the area! Seek shelter! Do not stand by the trees!" or, as most people heard it, "EVERYONE PANIC!" so we jumped some fences and trudged through the mud to seek refuge on the steps of the National Gallery where we continued to drink beers, eat brownies, and smoke pot with our fellow observers of the holiday. I guess it was a bummer that the concert was cancelled but I was having the best time. We just continued our party and had an excellent fiesta. It was kind of surreal, actually. Now school is way intense as we have 3 days of class left and I have a million things to do so I have been blowing off steam by drinking freely due to my new legal 21 status. Hooray!
P.S. This is Sam. I had to make a blogspot blog for my Spanish class last year, and I don't know how to change my name.

Melissa Houle bruises easily...and doesnt have full fare.

As we all know melissa houle does not mix with several things. The most salient of the things she doesn't mix with certainly includes motion, as anyone who has ever ridden in a cab, car or 4-ride with her in the past four years. However, last weekend, she got into a physical altercation with a cab driver and the above picture is the result.

Beer Luck

So last week it was sunny and beautiful and, in the same vein as Reut's birthday last year, we had a beer luck. For those of you who need clarification a beer luck is kind of like a potluck, but just with beer. In addition to that Anthony's little sister Lilly came and visited. She is mad cool, indeed, a tiny bit cooler than anthony himself. *shocker*
just kidding.
but in other news, tomorrow is the Pennsylvania primary, and i'm fucking shitting my pants because I really want barack to win. For all of you hillary supporting sloths....i hope you slip off the tree.

Backpacking Sloth

Hey guys!
How is everyone? Currently I am backpacking my way through Europe and sitting in an internet cafe in Venice, which is absolutely gorgeous. I have met some very odd people, been through some very bizarre situations and have been very drunk along the way. Being on the continent has made me realize how much I love and miss London. London is great and I have a boy there named Nick who is an author/poet/screenplay writer (if you have the chance check out his film Romulus, My Father). I have made some great friends along the way and really dreading going back home in June but I will be working in NYC for the summer. As for traveling, I have been drunk in the Hofbrauhaus, Munich's largest beer hall, ended up randomly in a German sex club in Berlin (all stereotypes about German gays are true=leather and army fatigue wearing bears) Sang and danced in a Parisian bar, fell in love with the beauty of Madrid, met the hooked up with the hottest guy in Barcelona and then met someone from England who has further potential, explored the roman ruins in Rome, got absolutely plastered in Florence, and almost drowned in a canal in Venice. Tonight im off to Vienna and then Amsterdam for my birthday (21 hell yea!) followed by Copenhagen. I love and miss all you guys and can't wait to see all you sloths in DC. I will make sure that pictures come soon, once I get back to London.
Love you,
Larry

Hello Sloths!
I know I have not yet posted on the blog, and most of the sloths here in DC are pretty familiar with my every day experiences as I'm prone to mentioning them every 5 min or so, but for those lovely people abroad, here is the update...
I am running for class council, even though I got on it this past semester by interview. Despite its rather nerdy connotations It has actually been pretty fun. We have had a couple of cool events, one called " Party Like a Rockstar" which was sponsored by rockstar the energy drink and was a rockband ( the game) contest... we ended up giving the rockband to the winner. It was a great success, except, Anthony was the only friend who came out to support other than Jon. But, that's ok, all in all its pretty lame, but weirdly satisfies my feelings of wanting to be more in the GW community.
In other news, Emily, my friend from home has been living across the street from 2400 M in one of those town houses. She is taking a semester off from school and working for the Obama campaign ( a non profit called women for Obama) and also waiting tables at Old Glory in Georgetown. Although I was a little concerned about what it would be like to have a friend from home come to live out here in my environment, it has been pretty cool. Its nice to have that little piece of home out here, and I'm pretty sure every one likes her. Also, she has made aderall readily accessible which has been good for our grades, but maybe not so good for our souls/ sleeping patterns.
So, in order to finish this post before the old toshiba over heats and powers down ( which it just did) I should briefly talk about the man in my life. Its a pretty new thing for me but I'm enjoying it. I met Jon at 18th st lounge in the beginning of February. He's a second year law student at GWU but is pretty much on our level. He's from NJ and went to BU undergrad. He causes me a fair amount of stress ( most of which I make up in my head) because he acts like its a pretty serious relationship but tells me its not so serious... but that is really the only point of contention. Other than that he's way cool and personable and has hung out with the whole crew a few times. Also he smokes ( although not up to our standards) but even picked up from Sarah and made a waterfall the other day... I was impressed. As for the other man in my life, Seamus the cat is also a source of stress. He is really sweet when Sarah and I are just hanging out quietly. However, when any one else is here he acts wild and skittish, even when my mom and sis stayed for the night last weekend. I was pissed at Seamus for being mean to my mom.
But, all in all things are pretty good here in ol' DC. The weather is beautiful and Sunday is 420. There is a huge/ free music fest on the mall w/ a bunch of way cool bands and my work load, although a little redic, is feasible with a little self discipline.
I miss and love you all!

we didn't forget about the sloth

Although we're not dressed in drag (Btw Gyawu you look fierce!)this is a good picture of us, just kidding! we look like assholes, but this is all we got! Reut has come to join me in the wonderful Edinburgh. We walked around all day, took a long siesta, and now are drinking some wine after Reut made some Spanish Tortillas. So Dickey is running for class council eh? How times have changed. WE miss you all very much, and Tut is pissed becuase she's not a part of this blog and I don't know how to invite her. I just got back from a very long spring break. I spent two weeks in London and got to see Melissa and Landon!!! It was pretty awesome, then i went off to Prague, Munich, Berlin, and Paris, met up with Larry for a little. I unfortch had to cut it short becuase I had some work to do. I have no more classes so I'm just fucking around for the next month and then moving to London for the summer, living with Timmy and hopefully working, but I haven't found a job yet : (. We both miss you all very much, we've just been reminiscing about the good old days and how none of the people we have met compare to you guys at home. In all seriousness, the people suck and are such fucking amateurs. We miss you guys, cheychey misses Gelman and fuck, do I miss adderall, It's not the same trying to write a paper not being cracked out and not being in Gelman, it really fucks with your head.

Hi, this is tut, tut boot, whatevs. so yeah, im here with ma girl chey chey, sad because this is the second to last trip im making during this semester. Right after finals I am going on a beach vacation for 3 days and then the semester is over. pretty depressing. but then my parents are coming and then i'll be in london and israel so i guess life isn't over until i get back to denver in july. i just returned from a trip to morocco on sunday which was amaaaazing. we visited markets, monuments, the mountains and the local hash dealer. actually every person on the street is a local hash dealer. the weekend before that i went to galicia, the spanish part above portugal, which is so beautiful. we were lucky it didnt rain and we got to go to the beach and get drunk and high on a boat.. all paid for by GW. i'm happy that i got to talk to some of you on the phone recently, i have missed sanity (or lack of) in my life. please someone invite me to this blog because cheyenne and i can't figure out how to.

cheyenne just jacked wafers from the kitchen, i told her to go girl. that's ma girl chey chey!

in conclusion- we are both well, horny and still got the munchies.

until next time

Glitter Ball Y'all

Why would I want to be traveling the continent of Europe or exploring the other side of the earth in tokyo when I could be here in beautiful Washington DC? While answers to this question abound, I can say that there have been some glimmers of sunlight in this otherwise lonely semester.
I forgot to tell you guys about GW's first ever Glitter Drag Ball. Allied In Pride-GW's LGBTQ group put on a drag show with a number of extremely talented performers, most notably among them--yours truly. Tucker and I performed the late 90's female empowerment anthem 'where my girls at' for a crowd of about 100. It was quite the experience---Initially I was a bit scared of getting on stage in front of the highly critical GW gay scene, but after I put on my platinum gold wig and Naomi's poppin' dress, I felt right at home alongside the professional performers.
It actually got really sweaty and raunchy--the host was one of gw's most infamous lesbians--MJ, she was more than tipsy on stage and introduced me as...well i can't really remember what she introduced me as (because I was crunked too), but it was something a long the lines of "Gyawu 'brand new vagina"  Mahama. It was awesome because literally everyone we know was in the crowd and melissa and naomi were dressed as men. Anyways, I have to go now, because I',m in the library procrastinating my ass off, but i'll include a link to the real video of the song we performed just so you can get a little indication of what my shimmy looks like.
Hugs and Kisses.

Nomihodai Sloth

**"Nimihodai" - all you can drink

Kyra and ELee says: After 13 hours on a plane, we sloths have arrived safely in Japan. We're at orientation in a "training center," with windows that overlook people doing tai chi in a park at 6am. On our second night here, after being a bit disappointed due to our 11pm curfew and being stuck outside of Tokyo, we found an oasis. The smoking room in the hotel, which is literally named the Oasis. After buying beer from the vending machines, which sell absolutely everything, we went up to the Oasis, where a bunch of wasted Japanese guys from a company staying here were. They were only 18, and liked to draw vaginas on a dry-erase board, rub this one's guys man-boobs, and basically just run around yelling a lot. They decided that the guy laying across the picture was Jo-ni De-pu and someone else was Mi-ku Ti-so-n. We still don't understand the whole peace-sign phenomenon, but it seems pretty much required in all photos. Last night we basically repeated this whole thing, except sometime around 2am a security guard came in because we were too loud (thankfully he didn't catch on to the fact that we'd climbed out of window onto a roof to shotgun beer, and some people were still out there) and told out program, and they FLIPPED OUT. Everyone had to go to a five-minute meeting to "investigate" the situation, and basically just really, really pissed. It's really....strange. Everything is strange here though. People don't even smoke as they walk down the street here, but stay in designate smoking areas, and everything is so clean. Tomorrow we meet our host families and need to stop being our true selves. But we'll always find ways to be sloth, even if right now we might be Su-lo-to. Anyway we miss you all and wish you could see this all with us!
